Double boiler. You heat the water in the pot and then pop the bowl over that once it's simmering. With shit like eggs or milk you gotta be careful not to overheat them while you're preparing the batter, that's where this comes in

There's no harm in starting with easy shit, look up a basic vanilla cake online and start there if you wanna, work your way up to fancy sponges
