Listen, I've seen a lot of shit and I'm pretty fucking powerful, but divination isn't my strong suit and screwing around with that sorta thing can be bad news.

We had mediums or psychics back on Earth who claimed to be able to talk to spirits and such. It never seemed all that convincing to me. But, considering you can turn someone into a bird, I'm more inclined to believe you can talk to ghosts.

[ And while it's been a lot to process, there's a comfort in knowing the people here aren't actually out to get them. ]

Let's start with something simple.

[Taako snaps his fingers and the air beside his cheek shimmers for a second, before a small mongoose appears perched on his shoulder. It chitters softly, curious, and Taako holds up a hand for it to climb onto.]

This is a familiar, it's sort of... not quite real, not quite an illusion? I can shape it however I want, and it follows basic instructions, telepathically.
