[There's something slightly unconfortable, knowing that he can so easily pass through Taako's wards, that he was still considered a guest after Magnus left. He hadn't expected it, really. He had so few friends, and fewer connections. That Taako still...cared...

...he needed more than just the one bottle of wine, he thought, but he could fake it. He had been for years, after all. He did let himself in, and followed the sounds to the kitchen, as indicated. He's even familiar enough with the interior to come in, set the bottle down on the counter, far from Taako's workspace, and being a search for glasses. And he arrives as casually chic as always.]

[There's a rice pilaf finishing up in the oven while Taako prepares the sauce, whisking it in a pot as a mage hand occasionally adds squares of butter. He doesn't pause as Dorian walks in, but he does look up and offer a smile.]

You should've told me we were getting dressed up, I woulda put some effort in.
