Nuh uh. (She shakes her head and folds her arms defensively across her stomach.)

[He puts his hands up in a gesture of surrender, then kind of looks Lucretia up and down, deciding what to go with.]
If you have a bra with invisible straps, put that on while I go do my thing.
[And then he's gone.
Only to come back a couple minutes later, with a pair of pants and a camisole in hand; the pants are the pair that Peggy bought him, wide legged in that 50s style she favors, though he's transmuted them to shift the colour from maroon to white, figuring the red was a bit dark. The camisole is simpler, since the pants are kind of the statement piece.
He has the manners to knock, rather than barge in.]
You decent?
no subject
When Taako knocks at the door, she's just sitting there in her bra and jeans, figuring it's stupid to put her shirt back on if she's just going to have pull it off again immediately anyway. It's just Taako.)
Uh huh.
no subject
You know what, that look would work.
[Just the bar and jeans; toss a blazer on over the top and it'd be hella vogue.
But he doesn't think Lucretia would go for it, so he offers her the clothes he picked out, instead.]
You'll have to thank Peggy for the pants, she's like - way classier than I am.
no subject
(But she's impressed with what he's given her. She pulls the camisole on first, then takes the pants, and turns around when she takes her jeans off because she's trying to hide that she's got cute underwear on.)
Did you only bring one option? That's confident. (But when she crosses back over to the mirror she has to admit that it looks... really nice. Like Taako had said: casual, without being too over the top.)
no subject
When she speaks again, he looks back at her and his expressions shifts to a very familiar smug one.]
Cha boy knows what he's doing.
[Also he owns a lot of miniskirts?? Which are not Lucretia's style.
He moves to sit on her bed, bringing his legs up to sit cross-legged (he took off his boots at some point while he was rummaging through his wardrobe).]
Now we've got that outta the way, who's the lucky lady? Do I know her? Is she cute? Should Lup and I make sure to pretend to be in bed by the time y'all get home?
no subject
Lucretia sighs, and glances at his reflection in the mirror.)
Her name is Bill, (she starts, matter-of-factly,) and you might know her? She's very cute. And no, because it's just a walk and a trip to the market, it isn't... like that.
no subject
Taako's smile widens, looking almost like a little kid on Candlenights, except a little kid who cusses a lot and teases his friend about her sex life.]
Hey, you never know where the night might take you. [But no, he knows Lucretia.] Bill's pretty rad, we went clubbing together, she's into girls, for sure.
[Just in case that was a concern.]
no subject
Um, yeah I know. I figured, because she explicitly stated taht only girls were allowed to... um, bid on her in the auction.
(Her voice gets kind of small near the end there, and eventually trails off.)
no subject
And as much as he'd love to torment Lux, he doesn't want to ruin her date by souring the mood.]
Well hey, my auction date went pretty well, I bet yours will be great.
no subject
(She latches onto that real quick, relieved that he's refraining from teasing her.) Who was it with?
no subject
[He knows this is a diversion tactic, but decides to let her have it (for now).]
It was with Rin, the drow? I dunno if you guys have like, met.
no subject
I know him. I'm glad you had a good time.
no subject
[They had a great time, but he doesn't miss her expression.]
What's the look for, bubbale?
no subject
(Her suspicions are being confirmed rn Taako!!)
Oh, nothing. I justβ we had a strange first meeting. I don't trust him.
no subject
Define strange, cause like, he seems like a pretty nice dude to me.
[Very dramatic and kind of intense, but that's not bad.]
no subject
He was doing this card trick game at one of the speed friending afternoons and he used magic to cheat information out of me. I think.
(She's, like, eighty percent sure.)
no subject
You know that sounds like shit I'd do, just with money instead of info.
[Info is boring to Taako. He can't buy cute clothes with information.]
no subject
(Not entirely true, but surely he gets what she means.)
no subject
I'll be careful, bubbale. I always am.
[Well.... that's not always true, but whatever.]
It's not like it's a thing anyway, we're just friends. It's kinda just nice having another elf to hang out with, and someone who gets like - our world. A world like ours.
no subject
(She shrugs.) I'm glad you can have that, though. It's strange, seeing so many humans around.
no subject
[It's not really... directly addressing the rest of what she said, but that's just how he rolls sometimes.]
Like there are some, but I'm so used to having Merle hanging around it feels fucking weird.
no subject
(It's all good. She figures he probably doesn't want to talk about home, which is fine.)
Ditto Barry and Davenport. It's kind of like we're just in another cycle where they kicked it, huh.
no subject
A cycle where they kicked it but we're not stuck on the fucking Starblaster, which is a mercy if there ever was one.
no subject
Though I do enjoy having a bigger room all to myself, for sure.
