[ And he arrives, well dressed of course. Accentuating those cheekbones Taako was so fond of. His eyes locate Taako, his expression full of bright mischief before he schools it into something more appropriately sober and intense. He kneels to take Taako's arm, his fingers curled around his. The smile never wavers, even as his lips brush over Taako's knuckles. ]

You see beauty in one way and I see it in another. A bright, vivacious spirit that sets the world in colour as he enters the room. All eyes on you, all lights that follow your fey steps, your irresistible charm. Moonlight breathes in your veins, magic sings your songs. How can any compare?

[Somehow, in the short amount of time it took Loki to arrive, Taako has acquired a silk kimono (is there anything underneath it, who knows) and a glass of wine for him to hold delicately as he sprawls on the chaise in his room like he's about to be painted like a french girl.

Because as if he was gonna let this happen while he was bumming around the house in sweats.

He doesn't hesitate to meet Loki's gaze, he's an idiot but he's not a coward and if they're doing this he's going to do it properly. He does have to bite his lip as Loki talks, partly to hide the laughter that's threatening to spill, though there's maybe a tiny bit of colour on his cheeks.

Still, once the little speech is done, Taako simply raises an eyebrow, shooting Loki an almost cool look, and keeps his voice even.]

And yet you still won't fuck me.

[ Without missing a beat. ]

Turn into a horse and I'll consider it.

[Annnnd he's gone.

He has to put the wine down because he's laughing so hard he's shaking, which ruins the whole demure 1920s heiress thing he had going on here but whatever, totally worth it.

Give him a minute.]

[ There's the faintest twitch of genuine pleasure as he removes his hand from Taako's and stands up, letting him expel the laughter from his system. ]

[Eventually he gets himself under control, sitting up properly as he wipes tears from his eyes.]

That was real lovely until you told me to turn into a horse.

[As though he didn't ruin it first.]

It seemed like the perfect moment to bring it up.

[ Loki settles himself in the opposite chair, sprawling elegantly. ]

I mean, fuck, I can't argue with that logic, but I do think I gotta draw the line at bestiality. [He shrugs, expression very much a what can you do kind of thing.] There's a lot you could talk me into, that's just a little too much.

[ His lips curve as Loki replies demurely. ]

Of course. That seems reasonable.

[Taako hums noncommittally as he stretches out again, slightly less glamorous this time, and reclaims him wine. Loki doesn't get wine because he's a big jerk.]

You're having way too much fun with this, huh?

[ He shrugs, unfettered. ]

It is in my nature to enjoy a good trick.

So saying nice shit to cha boy is a trick now?

[He's just being contrary.]

[ He leans back, conjuring his own glass of wine with a flick of his fingers. ]

[ Loki's eyes glint but he merely raises his glass, taking a sip. Loki does not reveal his secrets. That honour belongs to those who manage to uncover them, not for him to unveil. Despite how dramatic he can be and the attention he can culminate, in this, he does not budge. ]

[Taako huffs, waving an arm lazily at Loki to indicate just how terribly put out he is.]

I let you into my home to torment me and you won't even tell me the trick?

[ His expression doesn't waver. ]

If I told the truth about my tricks, I wouldn't be much of a God now, would I?

[ His eyebrows go up. ]

Whatever was like, in books and shit, I wasn't sure if I was gonna fuck up.

[That's a... surprising little bit of honesty from Taako, but he did actually have some of that Asgardian alcohol and like, he's chill with Loki, he can be a little honest on occasion.]

[ His smile is lazy but pleased. ]

[Not that he was ever super respectful, but when he was still sort of circling Loki and not sure how to approach him, he was a little more careful with all the god stuff.]
