[Taako closes his eyes, focusing on Lup's voice rather than the physical presence he's used to and using that to reassure himself. She's still here, even if she's intangible.]

He is, yeah. [A different sort of friend to Cisco, or Bryn, but someone that Taako trusts enough to go to for this.] Like, worst case scenario maybe he can give my own magic a boost, so I can cast shit faster.

[It might be overly optimistic, but he can do that for Lup, which is why he pulls back a little, finally, and flashes a grin.]

But hey, you got a few weeks of scaring the shit out of Magnus, if nothing else.

[She's still there, and definitely not going anywhere. Fuck, she's not sure if she'll even leave the house right now. There was still a lot of memories that needed to be sorted in her brain.]

[Taako wouldn't let her stay this way. She knew that.]

More importantly, though, now that the panic and worry has passed, something very important occurs to him:]

[She gasps at that and then laughs, hiding her skull with her bony fingers as if she's embarrassed.]

I couldn't always tell what was fully going on, it was hard to remember to be a person sometimes, but... he said he sensed a lich and I just... panicked?

[She makes a casting gesture.] I so didn't mean to ruin your date, I only managed to puzzle those pieces together later!

[Taako shakes his head, half in amusement and half in disbelief, as he finally moves to sit properly on the couch, patting the spot beside him. Lup can't really... sit, but she can float next to him, and that's close enough.]

You're lucky cha boy is so quick. [He doesn't know if a fireball would've really done too much damage to Kravtiz, but it definitely would've made things awkward.] Thanks for all those times you saved our asses, I guess.

[She's more than happy to float over and 'pretend' to sit. It felt kind of normal, honestly - like when she died on the Starblaster and just hung around like this.]

[Lup shakes her head slightly.]

...I wish I could have done more in Wonderland, though. I thought I was going to go insane, feeling how you suffered and not being able to do anything.

Wonderland was a fucking mess, Lucretia never should'a sent us in there blind.

[Lup did the best she could, they all did, and it still took so much from them, things they'll never be able to get back. If they'd known, maybe it would've been different.]

[He makes it Lucretia's fault so easily, but in a way it's true. Nothing had been more painful than being unable to help Taako when he needed it the most, and her friends were struggling horribly.]

[He'd originally thought it had been something like the staff not being powerful enough to handle Edward's magical force, but in the end it'd been Lup beating the fuck out of him.
