The umbra staff swallowing her as she gasps again, and suddenly there's red necromantic energy crackling around her. Lup barely has the wits to push her brother away before her soul starts ripping free from her body.

She floats up over the living room floor, shaking off her flesh as it turns into dust around her, just like her remains did long ago.

[It's a near thing, Taako doesn't want to let her go but he knows to trust her instincts and scrambles back at that shove, only to reach forward when her body starts crumbling, as if somehow his hands can keep her together.

There's a logical part of his mind that knows she's right there, in her lich form, but all he can see is her skeleton crumbling to dust in Wave Echo Cave and he feels like he's going to be sick. He can't bring himself to stand up, just stays on the floor, staring at Lup.]

[He knows it's her, he just needs the reassurance.]

[She knows just what to do. It's stupid and childish and thus perfect for this tense moment, right?

Reaching her arms up, she makes a perfect dab.

(She's right there, Taako. You're not going to lose her again.)

Brushing back her robe's hood, there's a brief look of her dark skeleton before she lights her body with illusory fire, creating an outline of her true self.]

That sucked.

[Taako laughs, it's a little shaky but it's genuine, and he finally manages to pull himself to his feet, reaching out for Lup, not caring about the skeleton or the fake fire.]

[It might be overly optimistic, but he can do that for Lup, which is why he pulls back a little, finally, and flashes a grin.]

But hey, you got a few weeks of scaring the shit out of Magnus, if nothing else.

[She's still there, and definitely not going anywhere. Fuck, she's not sure if she'll even leave the house right now. There was still a lot of memories that needed to be sorted in her brain.]
